Our Programmes
"Masomo Mashinani" is a swahili phrase which loosely translates to Education for the Marginalized.
Masomo Mashinani sets out to improve access and retention rates for children historically underserved by the education system.
Activities encourage community and parental participation in all aspects of school life, strengthen school management and leadership practices, and improve teaching practices and learning environments at the early childhood development, lower primary, upper primary, and lower secondary levels, including at informal community schools.
Masomo Mashinani reinforces literacy and numeracy. It sensitizes teachers and school managers to the needs of students from marginalized populations (pastoralists, girls, people with disabilities, orphans, and other vulnerable children).
It recognises the need for improved coordination with education policymakers and leaders to inform the national education strategy and enable the successful implementation of education programs in the marginal schools.
This project is undertaken by Kipepeo Green Heritage, and includes Rehabilitating/Building Libraries and Furnishing Books, as well as Computing Devices, donated by Kipepeo's Partners and Well Wishers. That is alongside gearing towards enforcement of best policies and practices to ensure seamless learning in the marginalized regions.
To be able to access education fully, it is essential that the children have access to hygiene products. These include Sanitary Towels, Undergarments among others.
In realization of this, the Kipepeo Foundation embarked on a drive to ensure that every girl child in the marginalized areas has access to hygiene products. This is made possible through the donations of well wishers and esteemed partners.
The distribution of these hygiene products usually happens in tandem with the planting of trees in the schools.
